the peptide skincare boom: separating skin science from marketing

Peptides are everywhere in skincare right now. They are in serums, moisturizers, lip products, cleansers, body washes, and even shampoos, all promising some version of smoother skin, more collagen, or fewer visible signs of aging.

But seeing “peptides” on a label tells you very little about whether the product can actually deliver those results. Which peptide is being used? Is there research behind that specific ingredient? Is there enough of it in the formula? Can it get through the skin barrier? And what happens when it is combined with everything else inside the bottle? So before you buy another peptide serum because the ingredient sounds impressive, it is worth knowing what actually makes a peptide useful for your skin and how formulation, delivery, concentration, and the rest of your routine can affect whether it works at all.

In this Biohacking Beauty Class, we are separating the science from the marketing around topical peptides. We get into which ones have more evidence behind them, what “Botox in a bottle” gets wrong, why some peptide products make more sense than others, and what to look for if your goal is supporting collagen, softening fine lines, and keeping your skin functioning well as it ages.
